ROTTERDAM, 28 January 2021 - Mi-Pay, Europe’s leading provider of profit boosting solutions, is collaborating with Ortel Mobile Germany, so customers can now top up their mobile credit in a wide variety of ways, including via WhatsApp.
In Germany, 25% of mobile phone users use prepaid phone plans. For many, the COVID-19 pandemic has greatly reduced the accessibility of physical prepaid phone cards. The crisis has underscored the need for a more convenient online top-up process. Ortel Mobile has responded in kind by partnering with Mi-Pay to launch a new, customer-friendly digital top-up experience.
Ortel Mobile Germany customers are now able to top up mobile credit easily via the Ortel Mobile website, via the Ortel Mobile app or through a simple WhatsApp conversation.
Mi-Pay now provides chatbot top-up via WhatsApp for Ortel Mobile
New to Ortel Mobile’s digital top-up offering is chatbot top-up via WhatsApp. The way this works is quite simple. Ortel Mobile customers need only start a conversation with the chatbot via WhatsApp by saying ‘Hello.’
The bot presents a range of top-up amounts (in euros) and asks the user to make a choice. Upon making a selection and choosing the preferred payment method (credit card, PayPal or SOFORT), the chatbot provides the user with a link to the payment method of choice. After the payment has been verified, a confirmation follows and the credit is immediately added to the prepaid account. The digital top-up option provided by Mi-Pay is also fully compliant with the strict European data protection regulations.
The move by Ortel Mobile to introduce WhatsApp as a sales channel improves the overall top-up experience for millions of prepaid users in Germany.
